Backpacks and knee rip jeans

black 1 Two huge trends at the moment – regardless the hemisphere you’re in – are backpacks and knee rip jeans. The reason I love both these trends is that they’re fun to play with when integrating into the rest of your wardrobe. And then of course there’s black, which is everyone’s fail safe… But more importantly it’s often the colour I choose when buying an item that’s a ‘trend’ because it makes the piece a lot more usable. Also black jeans have supernatural powers.black 2 This Merry Poppins of a backpack:

I got this brown leather backpack at a market in Bolivia and it was probably the handiest thing I bought. First of all I love the structured shape and the Bolivian fabric detail on it. But more than that the leather is so thick that I felt totally at ease that no one could cut the bottom of the backpack and take the contents (something an OCD person considers while walking around unfamiliar cities). Also it could fit a camera, jersey, water bottle, cell phone and a wallet inside – basically it works like magic. black 4 An all black outfit isn’t very adventurous but great for an on-the-go weekend look. I just added some silver bangles, keeping it as simple as possible. Here I’m wearing a hand made piece I found in Argentina with a black semi-precious stone.
