Uniform

white shirt uniform

Uniform 1 It’s that time of year where the Autumn leaves excite me but my desire to sleep in longer as the cold Joburg chill hits leaves me scrambling for something to wear. I’ve found that in order to get a few minutes extra sleep, which is one of the things I value most these days, I’ve put together a couple of pieces that work with just about anything. I call it ‘my week day uniform‘. Basically consisting of: ankle boots, skinny jeans/skirt, a black, grey or white top, and if I’m feeling adventurous maybe even a shift dress.

You could say I need some new inspiration or you could say I’m a genius for getting 5 more minutes in bed. You choose. uniform 2 It’s totally a coincidence that my ‘uniform’ may have strong resemblances to an all girls school. Perhaps I’m just missing the days where things were simpler…currently the adult world is not a vibe. On a colder day I would have thrown some stockings and a long coat on but for now I’m still enjoying the last rays of sun. (Also I’m still on the hunt for the right long length trench)

One of the new additions I’ve picked up recently is this white blouse, which is the ideal piece to add to your uniform. A 100% cotton shirt is a must. Pair it with skinny jeans and heels or dress it down by unbuttoning your shirt, adding boyfriend jeans and all stars. unifrom 3 Adding a pop of colour, like this bright red structured bag makes a ‘uniform look’ a little bit more exciting. If I owned red lipstick that didn’t make my cheeks look sunburnt I probably would have decided to let my inner Marilyn Monroe out too. Instead I opted for some pearls, which I’m pretty sure Marilyn would have worn anyway. IMG_2518_Fotoruniform

White blouse: Mr Price, Skirt: Cotton On, Jersey: Boutique in Palmero, Buenos Aires, Boots: Pick n Pay (similar here), Bag: Jo Borkett, Pearls: gift

If you’re as into the whole uniform look, let me know what your staple pieces are because I definitely need some new ones if I’m going to last the winter 🙂
