This waistcoat I picked up in South America is everything. Not only was it my favourite buy because it brings a bit of a South American flair to my outfit but also it has pom poms. And pom poms are officially a thing. As per usual I tend to keep things simple with just one or two stand out pieces. I think that pretty much defines my style. I love to play around with different trends and looks but in the end I stick to simple clean aesthetics with a touch of pattern or texture. This print takes me back to the vibrant streets in South America filled with fruit, colourful woolly jerseys and fabrics. It makes me want to go back and venture into Central America – the Caribbean is calling my name! This sort of ‘South American flair’ is popping up in a lot of other spaces. You can see how Tularosa have used hints of it in their Spring 2015 collection here and here. Not to mention local website A Fashion Friend, who have a tutorial on DIY pom-pom jeans.
Let me know what you think of this new South American inspired trend popping up or if you’re also pom-pom obsessed like me.
